It is very important to take good care of your personal laptop and computer to keep working them
properly. So, follow some
of these steps which are mentioned below which ensure that your laptop and computer last longer as
well as require very

1. Keep liquid material away from your laptops such as tea, coffee, soda, water, or any other
liquid. Spilled liquids damage
the internal parts that is microelectronic components which can cause electrical damage and short

simple; keep your drinks
away from your laptop.
2. Anti-virus software and firewall are the best protection against the virus and malware. If you already know what to
download, it might still contain a virus. If you don’t have antivirus software in your system, it may run the risk of a
circuit error. The virus also slows down the system operations as well as performance.
3. Don't eat anything on your laptop, the crumbs can fall on the keyboard or on the mouse touchpad due to which small bugs
or damage occurs. And your laptop will look dirty due to crumbs. So, keep food items away from the laptop and computer.
4. Keep your laptop and computer in a clean as well as dust-free room. And the room must be ventilated.

8. Don't pull the cable or wire of the power cord. Tugging it from the socket instead of directly pulling it on the plug
may cause the cord to break from the plug or damage the socket.
9. Handle the removable drives carefully. CD that has been removed from the laptop may easily be crushed. So, put them in
the storage box for safekeeping when not in use. Insert drives in slots carefully with the right angle. Forcefully pushing
the drive into the slots also jam it.
10. Don't expose your device to rapid changes in temperature. When you bring your laptop outdoors during the winter season,
never turn it on immediately. First, warm it to room temperature. This will prevent your device to damage the disk drive from
condensation that forms inside the machine. Also, avoid the sunlight heat.
11. Always clean your device to remove the internal dust annually. This may be either done by computer professionals or
expert or do it by yourself if you are skilled and have knowledge of cleaning. Due to dust and dirt, the system is able to
cool itself and heat destroy the motherboard.
12. Avoid keeping heavy materials for example books, on top of the laptop. This may push the screen into the keyboard and
will damage the display of the laptop. Also, the CD ROM that is inserted will also be squished and break.
13. Always store your laptop and computer in a well-ventilated area or room. While using your laptop, place it where air
circulation is constant. Many laptop and computer users ruin their devices by using them in closed and non-ventilated areas
that cause overheat to the system.
14. Always keep your computer and laptop on a flat & clean surface which prevents them from damage.
15. Never use your computer and laptop on the bed or couch. This will damage the fans by sucking up the dust and debris
particles from the bed, which can also block the fan.
16. Check your laptop and computer always not to have too much software around as they keep the storage of the precious
memory which is required for doing other high-end tasks.
17. Make sure that while downloading anything from the internet you should not download any unwanted installers or software’s
which are created usually to install unwanted software’s that are provided as freeware for providing the required or important
file.
18. Clean installation of the operating system that you use every two to three years. This will help your device to start
from scratch and maintain everything in a proper, organized, and effective manner.
19. For providing external RAM in windows laptops there is an option called windows ready boost which gives an allocated
space to be used as the virtual RAM for the computer instead of being completely dependent on the internal memory provided.
20. Do not try to run large or unsupported multimedia files over your computer if your computer does not meet the
specifications as it usually damages the computer in the long run.
